Newsletter 2018

Namaste and greetings to all our Gamvasis in the UK.

This year, our Gam’s Annual General Meeting is to be held on Sunday 9th September 2018 at Shree Krishna Mandir, 81 Old Meeting Street, West Bromwich, B70 9SZ.

This year the Executive Committee met 4 times to discuss matters relating to UK and Bodali Gam. The main topic has been around youth participation and attendance at our meetings in UK. It is our belief that to bring in more youngsters to participate we have to gear our events to their interests. We need to inform them about Bodali Gam, Navsari and the surrounding villages so that when they attend meetings, they have a general idea of what the committee members and Bodali vasis are talking about.

This year Bodali received a grant of Rs. 23.58 lakh. This was used to carry out work such as: tarmac roads, community hall for the Aihir samaj, boring for water, installation of a pumping machine, laying pipeline, etc.

In addition, youngsters from the Gam have done a wonderful job of helping to replace 3 faulty valves in the water pipeline hence preventing water wastage. They have also checked all the lights for the coming rainy season and where necessary, replaced street light bulbs.

Both Goya and Radha talavs have been made deeper.

A mobile tower has now been erected in Bodali – giving better reception for mobile phones.

In the UK as from 25th May 2018 the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) has come into affect. In order to comply with this BSMUK has written a new Data Privacy Policy.  Any information we have collected about you or your family, over the years will not be amended or deleted unless you inform the BSMUK Data Controller in writing.

Once again, Namaste and thank you all. BSMUK committee members are looking forward to meeting you and your family at the AGM on Sunday 9th September 2018 at Shree Krishna Mandir West Bromwich.
