Somabhai Bhanabhai
In June 2013 Somabhai Bhanabhai (97), a prominent member of our community sadly passed away in Bodali. To celebrate his life and his achievements, Bodali Seva Mandal held a Sokh Sabha in his honour in West Bromwich in 4th August 2013. Somabhai Bhanabhai was a generous donor of funds and a community worker who worked relentlessly to improve the life style of our gamvasi and promote our community. A founder member of Bodali Seva Mandal UK, who stood tall and proud as the Bodali gates that he gifted to our gam.
New Water Tank
The new Water Tank erected at Harpativas (School Falia) has now been commissioned and is fully operational. The network of pipes that provide high pressure water supply to the household has also been connected to the water tank. The projects started in 2008 and had been funded by various sources, including our gamvasi from UK and NZ and the India government.
RO Plant – success
In November 2012, Bodali opened its first Water Filter Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant. This project had been on our books for over 2 years was finally completed with private donations. Our thanks to Dr. Pravinbhai Dayalbhai and his family of their generous donation to build the RO plant that serve the gam with purified drinking water; Taraben Amubhai for donating funds for initial maintenance of the plant filters; Sureshbhai Dhirubhai of NZ for providing free filtered water to all registered gamvasi on a weekly basis – initially for one year. The RO plant not only serves Bodali but also the neighbouring gams. It is a self-sustaining operation, with the proceeds of the water sales been ploughed back into project to maintain and employ operators.
40th Anniversary – video link
Last year was our 40th Anniversary (September 2012), since our BSMUK was established which was celebrated in Dudley. This occasion was marked by sharing our Sammelan with live video link (skype) with our gamvasi in Bodali. Overcoming some initial technical difficulties we successfully linked to our school in Bodali and were able to conduct questions and answers session with our Sarpanch Randhirbhai, Headmaster Anilbhai, committee member Manganbhai and various other gam representatives. The visual impact of the Skype link was an enormous success, enjoyed by our audiences in Bodali and in Dudley.
Projects
Over the past year, Randhirbhai with the help of our gam commitee had applied for government grants and complete a number of important projects in Bodali. A complete list of these projects can be found on our website followed with a short description. These projects including future projects will also be discussed at our 2013 Sammelan in Leicester. BSMUK would like to thank Randhirbhai and the gam committee for all the good work that has been carried out and making us all proud of our gam.
Endowment Appeal
Last year we made an appeal to our members to further increase our Endowment fund which was positively received. We would like to repeat that appeal to your family members who are in employment and have not donated before. We do appreciate that contributions can be difficult in this present economic climate but we do hope that with your help we can shape the future of BSMUK and Bodali.
બોદાલી સેવા મંડળ યુ.કે. ન્યુઝલેટર – સમાચાર પત્રિકા ઑગષ્ટ ૨૦૧૩
સાદાર નમસ્કાર,
વાર્ષિક ન્યુઝલેટર સપ્ટેમ્બર ૨૦૧૨ થી ઑગષ્ટ ૨૦૧૩ દરમ્યાન થયેલા કામો અને બોદાલી સેવા મંડળ યુ.કે. ની પ્રવૃતિઓની માહિતી આપવા તૈયાર કરવામાં આવ્યો છે.
જૂન ૨૦૧૩ માં આપણા ગામના અને સમાજના અગ્રણી સોમાભાઇ ભાણાભાઇ (૯૭) નું બોદાલી ખાતે દુઃખદ અવસાન થયું હતું. તેમનું જીવન અને તેમણે મેળવેલી નામનાને યાદ કરી તેમના માટે પ્રાર્થના અને શ્રધ્ધાંજલિ આપવા બોદાલી સમાજે ૪ ઑગષ્ટ ૨૦૧૩ ના રોજ વેસ્ટબ્રોમવીચ ખાતે એક શોકસભાનું આયોજન કર્યું હતું. સ્વ. સોમાકાકા ઉદાર દિલના દાનવીર હતા અને તેમણે આપણા સમાજની પ્રગતિ માટે તેમજ બોદાલી ગામ વાસીઓના જીવન ધોરણ સુધારવા ઘણી જ મહેનત કરી હતી. તેઓ બોદાલી સેવા મંડળ યુ.કે. ના ફાઉન્ડર મેમ્બર હતા. તેઓ સમાજના અગ્રણી અને બોદાલી માટે ઘણો ગર્વ માન ધરાવતા હતા. બોદાલીગામ પ્રવેશ દ્વાર તેમની ગામને આપેલી ભેટોમાંની એક છે.
નવી પાણીની ટાંકી જે હડપતિવાસ (નિશાળ ફળિયા) આગળ બનાવવામાં આવી છે તે હવે સંપૂર્ણ કાર્યરત થઇ ગઇ છે. તે ઉપરાંત પાણીના ટાંકી સાથે જોડાયેલી ઊંચા પ્રેશરવાળી નવી પાઇપલાઇન પણ ઘરેઘર ચાલું થઇ ગઇ છે. આ કામ ૨૦૦૮ થી ચાલતું હતું. તેમાં યુ.કે. તથા ન્યુઝીલેન્ડમાં વસતા બોદાલીવાસીઓના તેમજ ભારત સરકારના ફંડમાંથી આ કામ પરિપૂર્ણ થયું છે.
નવેમ્બર ૨૦૧૨માં બોદાલીમાં પ્રથમ વૉટરફિલ્ટર આર.ઓ. પ્લાન્ટ ચાલું થયો હતો. આ પ્લાન્ટ આપણા મંડળ પાસે બે વર્ષથી હતો અને છેવટે ખાનગી દાનોની મદદથી પરિપૂર્ણ થયો છે. અમે ડૉ. પ્રવિણભાઇ દયાળભાઇ અને તેમના પરિવારને આર. ઓ. પ્લાન્ટ કે જે ગામને ચોખ્ખું પાણી પૂરું પાડે છે તે બાંધવા માટે દાન કરવા બદલ અભિનંદન પાઠવીએ છીએ અને તેમનો આભાર માનીએ છીએ. પ્લાન્ટના ફિલ્ટરોની પ્રારંભિક જાળવણી માટે તારાબેન અંબુભાઇ તરફથી દાન મળ્યું છે તે માટે તેમનો ખૂબ આભાર. આ ઉપરાંત ન્યુઝીલેન્ડવાસી શ્રી સુરેશભાઇ ધીરુભાઇ તરફથી ગામવાસીઓને જેઓ ફિલ્ટર પાણી માટે રજિસ્ટર થયા છે તેમને દરેકને અઠવાડિયામાં એક દિવસ તેમના તરફથી ૨૦ લિટર પાણી આપવામાં આવશે – શરૂઆતમાં એક વર્ષ સુધી. આ ખર્ચ શ્રીમાન સુરેશભાઇ આપશે. આ સુંદર કાર્ય માટે તેમનો ઘણો ઘણો આભાર. આપણા આર.ઓ. પ્લાન્ટનું ફિલ્ટર પાણી આજુબાજુના ગામના માણસો પણ પૈસા આપી લઈ જાય છે. આમ જે આવક થાય છે તેમાંથી જ પ્લાન્ટ ખર્ચ અને કામદારને પગાર ચુકવાય છે.
ગયા વર્ષે આપણા મંડળની સ્થાપનાની ૪૦મી વર્ષગાંઠ (સપ્ટેમ્બર ૨૦૧૨) ડડલીમાં સામાન્ય જાહેરસભા સાથે ઉજવાઇ હતી. આ પ્રસંગે બોદાલી ગામવાસીઓ સાથે લાઇવ વીડીઓ લીન્કથી (SKYPE) વાતચીત કરવામાં આવી હતી. શરૂઆતની તકનીકી મુશ્કેલીઓને દૂર કરીને અમે આપણી સ્કુલમાં હાજર રહેલા સરપંચ શ્રી રણધીરભાઇ, હેડમાસ્તર અનિલભાઇ, કમીટી મેમ્બર મગનભાઇ તેમજ યુવકમંડળના કાર્યકર્તાઓ, કાર્યકરો જોડે સવાલ જવાબ અને ચર્ચાઓ કરી. આ લાઇવ વીડીઓ લીન્કની બોદાલી અને ડડલીમાં હાજર રહેલાં સૌએ ઘણાં જ આનંદપૂર્વક મજા માણી હતી.
ગત વર્ષ દરમ્યાન સરપંચ રણધીરભાઇ, પંચાયતના સભ્યો અને ગામવાસીઓ સહુ મળીને સરકાર પાસેથી ઘણી જ ગ્રાંટો મેળવી ગામમાં અગત્યના કામો કરાવ્યાં હતા. આ કામોની યાદી આપણા ગામની વેબસાઇટ પર જોવા મળશે, તેમાં દરેક કામની ટુંક માહિતી પણ છે. આ પૂર્ણ થયેલ કામો તેમજ ભવિષ્યમાં થનાર કામો અંગેની ચર્ચા ૨૦૧૩ના લેસ્ટર ખાતે થનાર સંમેલનમાં થશે. બોદાલી સેવા મંડળ યુ.કે. સરપંચ રણધીરભાઇ, ગ્રામપંચાયત, યુવકમંડળો અને સમગ્ર ગામવાસીઓને આ સુંદર કામો કરવા બદલ અભિનંદન આપે છે અને તેમનો આભાર માને છે. અમો સૌ બોદાલીવાસી તરીકે આ બાબતનો ગર્વ લઇએ છીએ.
ગયા વર્ષે અમે જે ગામવાસીઓ યુ.કે.માં રહે છે તેમને એન્ડોમેન્ટ ફંડમાં વધારો કરવા માટે જણાવ્યું હતું જેનો અમને સારો આવકાર મળ્યો છે. આ વર્ષે અમો ફરીથી જેમણે એન્ડોમેન્ટ ફંડ ન આપ્યું હોય તેમને ફંડ આપવા વિનંતિ કરીએ છીએ. અત્યારના આર્થિક સંજોગોમાં ફંડ આપવામાં મુશ્કેલી પડે એવી સ્થિતિ છે છતાં પણ મદદ કરી બોદાલી એને બોદાલી સેવા મંડળ યુ.કે.ને તમો મદદ કરશો એવી આશા છે.
